Dan Walker

Dan presents 5 News, Channel 5’s evening news programme. A broadcaster and journalist with over 20 years’ experience, Dan studied history and then journalism at the University of Sheffield before beginning his career at Hallam FM and Key 103. He then moved into TV – initially at ITV, then the BBC and now with Channel 5.

Dan hosted the BBC’s Football Focus for 12 years and has covered five Olympic Games, five World Cups and the NFL for two seasons. He has also broadcast from numerous major sporting events including Wimbledon, The Grand National, Royal Ascot, The Derby, and the Six Nations.

In 2019 Dan raised funds for Comic Relief by climbing Kilimanjaro. Dan also organises his own very popular charity golf tournament – The Walker Cup (not that one!) – raising over £250,000 for The Children’s Hospital Charity.
