Jonathan Thompson

CEO, Everyone TV

Jonathan leads the development of Freeview and Freesat, the UK’s free TV platforms, used by over 11 million homes as their primary source of TV.

Following the integration of Everyone TV (formerly Digital UK) with Freesat in July 2021, Jonathan is now responsible for the long-term strategy for free-to-view TV in the UK, as well as the day-to-day management of digital terrestrial television (DTT) and satellite service, Freesat.

In 2015, Jonathan oversaw the launch of Freeview Play, the UK’s fastest-growing TV service with 10 million users. Last year also saw the launch of Freeview’s new Accessible TV Guide, the first dedicated accessibility solution to launch on a UK TV platform.

A former director of strategy for Ofcom and Channel 4, Jonathan has extensive experience of working in broadcasting and the regulatory environment. Before joining Everyone TV he worked in the Office of the Chairman at DMGT plc, advising on group strategy.
