Karl Burnett

SVP of Human Resources EMEA, A+E Networks

As Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Karl leads the extended family of A+E Networks EMEA talent across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Under his leadership A+E Networks EMEA won Broadcast’s Best Places to Work in TV award in 2018 and was shortlisted in the Most Inclusive Company of the Year category in the IABM awards of 2021. Karl launched the Learning and Development scheme at A+E Networks EMEA, offering staff time to engage in courses, workshops and events. He has also brought in one-to-one coaching and kickstarted a mentoring programme.

Before Karl was poached by A+E Networks EMEA in 2015 he was HR Director of BBC News and Radio, heading up a team of 60 professionals responsible for 8,000 journalists around the world. And before the BBC he held senior HR roles at Nickelodeon, Channel 4 and M&S.
