Cathy Newman was the first female main presenter of Channel 4 News, joining Channel 4’s flagship news programme in 2006 after a decade in Fleet Street.
Cathy’s studio interviews are frequently news-making, and many have gone viral. Cathy also presents the Friday Drivetime programme on Times Radio. On TV she has presented numerous other Channel 4 programmes and has also appeared several times on the satirical news quiz, Have I Got News For You.
Prior to Channel 4 News, Cathy worked as chief political correspondent for the Financial Times for three years. Before that she covered politics and media for the FT having joined from the Independent where she was media business correspondent.
Cathy is a patron of Kids, a charity for disabled children, and an ambassador for Young Minds.
