Digital UK has published a consultation on proposals to expand the Freeview TV guide and update its policy for allocating channel numbers (LCNs). The proposals are designed to:
- Ensure channel genres have the capacity to accommodate new services, following strong demand from broadcasters.
- Simplify Digital UK's LCN policy and provide greater flexibility for channel providers.
- Provide additional consumer protection measures to further minimise risks around minors viewing inappropriate content.
We welcome responses from all stakeholders in the DTT platform including channel providers, multiplex operators, consumer groups and viewers and listeners.
